Nike tried to take over skateboarding and failed twice, before Sandy Bodecker arrived on the scene. With the help of the Nike Dunk, Nike SB was finally able to stick the landing, and ended up changing the world of shoes as a whole.

So they recycled a 17 year old shoe, and threw a ton of money at a bunch of top skaters (who sold out) to buy their own undeserved street credit, then copied old Vans design, and gained non-skateboarding fans by limited releases. Anyone growing up and skating or snowboarding in the 90's or earlier, if a true fan of either sport will never touch or wear anything Nike. It literally represents everything we stood for and believed in. You can't evolve away from that, and you can't change the soul of that.
