the fact this appears after i decided to put a project aside for a bit 💀
edit: i usually don't edit comments i wrote for the funny since i feel like it completely ruins the joke, but i feel like i should thank the replies for reminding me that its okay to take a break from a project if you're burnt out, and at exactly the right time too, hope you don't mind a little story.

after I found myself not wanting to work on an animation i was making (do not worry i will finish it when I'm feeling better!) for three days straight, i spent today with the decision to work on something else (a rainbow loom bracelet). i looked for something to listen to as i loomed and found this video in my subscriptions. i watched it and left behind the awesome joke comment based on what im experiencing currently.

i guess its not a joke anymore, but rather a thank you and a reminder that its okay to take a break.

Sometimes giving up is a good thing though. I stuck to my first original novel for over 10 years. After a decade I finally managed a first draft - still with holes. Am I proud to get that far? Sure. But I really wish I had not been stubborn and just wrote something else, because it was an extremely frustrating experience that made me feel like I lost valuable time and it sucked all the joy out of writing.Seriously. I had to relearn what I used to love about writing afterwards. Sticking to your project through hard times is absolutely valuable, but do pay attention to your feelings. If working on it doesn't make you happy anymore and you only work for that far off day it finally being over, then giving up is absolutely no shame. Embrace the mess and do what makes you happy in the moment. Never hold your creativity hostage!
