Peugeot 3008 MPV (2009-2013) review - CarBuyer

The Peugeot 3008 blends the best qualities of a hatchback, a people carrier and a 4x4. The looks are a step in a new direction for Peugeot, as is the interior, which is beautifully built and feels like a premium product. It's practical, too, as the split tailgate is very convenient and the cabin is well thought out.

when I bought a 307 four years ago I sat on a 3008 for the first time and I thought "what a dream car!"

now, I'm looking to buy a 3008 and I can't wait to put my hands on this wheel and hit the road!

The versatile tail gate and flexible boot impress and so does the cockpit.

the first car registered in my country, Italy, it was a Peugeot Type 3. Here in Italy is considered the best french brand (also Citroen).

I've seen one of these last day. Beautiful.

Rear passenger space is actually very good in this car. I'm tall and I fit. I can't for example in a Kia Sportage/Hyundai ix35 and a lot of other cars.

The exterior styling is questionable, but the interior is really nice, it is most important to me.

I love my 2011 diesel model:
I occasionally sleep in it (not normal I know) I carry tons of Scuba and camping gear in it.
I carry my Avon Rover inflatable tender and outboard motor in it.
It's great on fuel...55+ mpg.
It's low on depreciation....£4600 paid in 2016. 40K miles later offered £2400 on WBAC Feb 2018.
One injector fail + full service to pass MOT approx. £600.
98, 000 miles and (new battery yesterday £95) still looking and feeling good for another 50K.
New cambelt on Peugeot recall fitted by main Dealer FOC. (helpful)
…..One of the best cars I ever owned (30+ since 1971) I'm touching wood here, obviously.

Watch out for the inevitable glass sunroof leak - my 2016 3008 Allure model developed an internal leak from the sunroof after 4 and a half years. Very expensive to fix (glass 'inevitably' breaks on removal)
...it also had the infamous Peugeot 'clutch whoop' issue - complete clutch replacement needed. Expensive. My next car was not a Peugeot.

I've driven quite a bit with these 3008s and I felt like it is a comfortable car. Some things about it are a bit strange like the way you sit in it, but it does feel much more grown up than a C4 Picasso :)

Good review Mat ! Thanks !

I can't wait to get one, next year when I get my first year no claims. Although, I wouldn't say the leg room is an issue, looks like there did plenty!

@lffit Of course we like them. I own a French car. The only reason Fords and Vauxhalls (GM) sell better is because they are generally considered to be a little more reliable

Don't worry, we Europeans feel the same way about US cars. That's why we mostly build our own or get them from Asia. The new Citroens look really good I must say. So does the Peugeot 508. I'd say French cars look stylish .. US cars don't. They just look graceless.

This is my father`s car and he let me drive it! I like this car, but there is one big problem - It get break very often and it need a lots of money for repairs. Also you should be very gentle with pedals

Peugeot 2008, is much more Romy in the back. And much better to look at on the outside and inside the car.

Love mine but wish it had 6th gear as at 70mph and 3500 rpm it sounds strained. Was used to a 2 litre Picasso so maybe I just need to get used to it. When you hit 30mph it will cruise happily in 5th Gear so why such a big gap upwards.

It was about time you reviewed my car!!! :) I liked it! Mine does not make any parasite noises, though.... so far, at least...
