Since there's no mud inside the wheel wells, I'd say it was staged for you.

I think the mud was added. That Element doesn't have the capability to throw that much mud on itself, much less the ability to navigate through that kind of a mud bog. It sits way too low and the tires have no dig.

You see the "S" in the windshield, it means it was "swamped", flooded if you want. I think a Honda dealership sent you this "write-off" to deep clean it. And since they don't want to register the work in the shop work book, they pass by you to do the "dirty work".
