Coastal areas cannot house trailers any longer. It's too dangerous...

This may be a huge wake up call for many retirees up north - I think they will think twice before moving to Florida ( especially on a fixed income ) I know I would not want to start over at 65 years old. Plus the older you get - a lot of times health issues pop up & it’s even harder to rebuild.

I feel bad for this couple from Kentucky, I think those Kentucky winters are starting to look better and better. Like they said this is their first hurricane, well if you stay in Florida it won't be your last. My heart goes out to both of you I hope you find a safe haven somewhere where you can be comfortable and safe❤

It's not paradise when this happens. We left after 46 years in 2022. Hurricane fatigue and insurance cost. I miss the beaches but not this mess.

I think I’ll just keep shoveling snow. Tempting to want to ditch the shovel at my age, but on second thought, I can always hire someone🤷🏻‍♀️.

Trailers and mobile homes are not place to remain during hurricane. They need to evacuate every time.

Those are right on the water, I would say that 95% of mobile homes are completely intact ....source? I live in this area and haven't seen any mobile homes completely destroyed, even the brand new houses down the road have messed up roofs too, and every flimsy fence they build kn those new homes is in peices all over, but yeah mobile homes directly on the ocean probably not the best idea

I'm sorry for them but you don't live here unless you have insurance and it's expensive...

I know that mobile homes can be made with roofs rated for handling a certain amount of snow load, it seems that all mobile homes being situated in Florida should have been required to meet manufacturing standards that would allow them to withstand what a hurricane can dish out. Oh and be situated at a minimum elevation above ground level.

Genesis 15:13-14 KJV

And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not their's, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; and also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
