Why Waterslide Wipeout Was Less Fun Than It Looked

Tested member Mark Burban wondered, "I've always wondered if the MythBusters crew at large (ie cameramen etc) ever got to experience some of the more fun myths tested; ie, giant waterslide or wakeboarding with heavy machinery." My favorite thing about watching Adam, is that 10+ years later and it still comes through how much he enjoyed working with the people who made 'Myth Busters' possible. His recollection of the stunt man, and crediting that guy for making the final shot possible, was really heartwarming to hear on a Friday. Started my weekend off right.

I have to give you immense credit, Adam. I watched that episode recently and there was no indication at all that you were in pain or a bad mood. You were the standard, jovial, excited Adam, from what we could see on camera.

If I learned anything as a kid, it's that the only way to make going down a slide like that even more fun is to be told you're not to do it.

On one hand, as an employer you can't tell people that it's okay to go down the mega water slide when you aren't looking. As a person you can't reasonably expect anybody to actually not go down the mega water slide the moment you look away.
