I did notice the allegories when I read it in middle school. That's what made me love it so much even then!!

Great read !
I grew up w/Narnia
W/e Edmund’s reasoning for denying Narnia, which I believe the book says he wanted to demean Lucy .. along w/other absurdities, for Christians is a good reminder of what could go awry if we deter from growing in faith and obedience

I read The Chronicles of Narnia as a kid and knew going into TLTWTW that it had Christian symbolism because I was told beforehand.
I love the world of Narnia and all of the books! I even took a university class on C. S . Lewis that analyzed each book and the symbolism Lewis had in each one. It's fascinating!

I am taking a class on C.S. Lewis and his literature right now, it is fascinating! He had a classical education, and when he started studying Christianity he realized the parallels between Christianity and other religions stories, and in learning more about it, realized that it fit into the idea that the Christian God sort of "put His imprint" or gives signs of Himself in His creation, so that people would seek Him out. He also realized that the correlations didn't so much disprove God or Christianityas "just another myth", but actually supported that aspect of God and His creation presented in the bible. It's quite interesting, and to truly understand Lewis's inclusion of pagan myths in his Narnia story, you have to understand his approach to apologetics and the dynamics of the relationship between imagination and reason.

I’m going to read this series this year, I can’t believe I never read this as I was growing up!

I never read any Narnia books while in school. My school system really did me a disservice in regards to literature. We covered Shakespeare in high school and that was about it. Or at least as far as I can remember. I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for the first time last spring. I have yet to return to the series, though I very much want to. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Interesting, I've nevwe thought why there are mythycal creatures. My first intuition is different to your's.
In the history of salvation, Jews are the chosen people but our Lord Jesuchrist asked to "announce the gospel to every nation". That includes al types of pagans: Romans, Greeks, phenicians, etc. The Scripture says: "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:10-11). I think that the presence of different creatures it means that every nation, people from all over the world should accept Aslan.
To reinforce my position I'll quote the book of acts: "The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour[b] to pray. And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven. (Acts 10:9-16)
I hope you enjoy mi answer😁

If you're going to review the book, please keep it to the actual book's contents (rather than trying to append the book's story to another story not contained in the book that you are reviewing). If the author was Christian and adapted Christian themes in his stories, then that's okay to mention but please stop Christianizing the contents, as The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe story is not a New Testament bible story.
