Divine Healing: Theology vs Experience

A radio broadcast from 2011 where Dr. Brown discusses the biblical basis for healing and also processes through the issues dealing with our experience of healing.

God's wisdom and knowledge of future consequences is perfect. He promises that all things work for good for his children. Dying is never bad for the believer. With our limited understanding we think healing will be best for us or the sick one. But only God knows the best. I prayed for a miracle to heal my father, a Christian, in hospital after he had a severe heart attack. But as I prayed for a miracle and assurance of my father's salvation I heard God whisper "just be a son to him and trust him into my care" . I did. I held his hand saying I love you dad as he died even though he was unconcious at that point. As my life paned out afterwards. I am 58 now. I was 19 then I know so many good things wouldn't have happened to me if he had lived on earth longer. Same thing happened when my mother died from breast cancer back in 2003. I probably wouldn't be married to my wonderful Christian wife Joanne today. And if my Christian aunt hadn't died suddenly a year after her sister my mum and left me an inheritance to pay for the purchase of our home. Well all I can say is God knew better than I. And my father mum and aunt are all with Jesus so they have been blessed beyond measure not cursed. For the Christian our death is a blessing not a curse and God alone knows when we must die and the circumstances of it. It is not always God's will to heal on earth or raise the dead when we die. Because God has to work all things best for all the believers involved. Selfishness leads us to pray what we think is best for us. Rather seek God's perfect plan and his glory. Sometimes Jesus healed people who had sought healing for years. So as my friend Chris a Christian said never give up and sometimes death is the more perfect healing as there is no sickness in heaven or in the resurrection.

I have engaged, struggled with/through and survived extremely poor choices. I have Thank God for those seasons of my life. I don't really know why I felt I had to go there and back but it has become a testimonial I offer to others as an example of my salvation story.

Dr. Brown in India many more prosperity gospel preachers are deceiving the innocent believers of our Lord Jesus Christ. I appreciate your biblical knowledge and right approach. I have become your fan.

the law was a schoolmaster chasing us with a whip pointing out our every flaw, until we fall down and give up. then grace can come and pick us up and carry us across the finish line . we win the race because of christs power and strength.,

This humbles me when am praying. I pray for healing, His Will be done. He answered Paul this way:

2 Corinthians 12:5-10 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Can I pray for healing if someone has severe disabilities who is Buddhist? Could healing occur if they’re not Christian?

you know I am a little offenede cuz poor Arel with ALS . I think its ok to mourn and be sad and possibly feel sorry for yourself i mean Jesus wept over Jerusalem, Lazarus . and was upset over Mary and Martha crying and being upset . In my experince also Gd. wanted me to be ''real'' with Him about my feelings and why should i have fake feelings ? but yes Good for you Arel for still continuing to worship and blessing Gd. in my opinion. like Job i would say ''THOUGH HE SLAY ME I WILL STILL LOVE AND WORSHIP HIM. ''

I have heard people actually thank God for sickness/suffering or even crazier thanking Him for sins they committed! That's so twisted!

God can keep us physically Sick in order to keep us spiritual Healthy. Thinking otherwise it's the natural reaction from our rebellious nature
