So I got to tell a little story right now cause I cried from this a couple minutes ago.
Basically since I was a kid, my dad has taught me most to all of his magic tricks. He is known in Australia really well and has fooled many people before with his tricks.
I have never been able to ever get away with any new tricks that I show him because he can always easily understand the principle.
Until today.
I went up to him in the lounge, showed him the the shock on his face is something I’ll never forget. For once he did not understand the trick.
We hugged it out and I felt like I had finally accomplished one of the biggest things in my life.
For that I thank this channel for showing me this trick. Today was truely magical

The trick works because if they pick your key card your key card will be the card you followed. If they don’t pick your key card your key card will be switched with the other card they did not pick and that is the card you will follow so when they flip it over you know it’s not there card because they moved that card to where your key card was and it can’t be your key card because your key card moved. Hope that made sense😂 also I had now idea how you did this before you explained it so thank you for showing us!

when you have a key card and you ask them to switch the two they didn’t pick then that means your supposed keycard is swapped with the other one they didn’t choose because you asked them to then you follow your supposed keycard and it ends up being the one they swapped with from the beginning when you told them to and now that you know that then it means your keycard CAN’T be their selection because of the switch you made them do from the beginning

The trick works because if you don’t pick the key card, you switch the other two cards which will place the one other card into the key cards place which then tells you that neither of those cards can be the one the person picked! Leaving only the other card left which now has to be their card! The trick wouldn’t work if they could switch any of the cards after they pick their original card! Love your videos Andrei!

The trick is based on permutations...Since u r following one card u r eliminating the one permutation making it more easy to guess but since u know initial position of ur chosen card too so u eliminate one more permutation and bang only one case is left always..

This works because:
1. If your key card is not in place, it means it has been switched and is therefore not the card the spectator chose
2. The card in your key card's place has been switched with the key card (that's why it is in the key card's place) and can therefore be eliminated

It works because the fact that the card you followed was not your key card gave you all the information you need, its really easy, so you eliminate the card you follow and your key card

the reason why this trick work would be because the swap choice isn't completely random unless your spectator intentionally switch other cards then you ask to switch. If the spectator was allow to mixed any of the cards not the ones told to the odds of picking the right one would be 1/3 but because we told them to moved two cards that wasnt their option and swap cards in a monte style you increase your odds to 2/3. it's similar to that one idea of monty hall problem.

@andrei Jikh there is a logical expression to why it works. If key card is not in place, then it is not key card. Has to be the other two. The way you know it's not the one where your key card is supposed to be is because of the mix the two you did not pick command at the start. That is the key to the trick. It eliminates the one that is switched and your tracker. Because you see the one that is swapped.

It makes total sense to me, out of the three cards you each choose up to two, if your key card is not where you left it then they chose another card, and so when you mix up the three cards and you follow your key card and it ends up being a different card, you know that it is the card that had nothing to do with your key card selections. It is difficult to verbally explain but visually it made lots of sense

1) If they pick your keycard it will not change the position so it will be wherever you follow it.
2) If they dont pick your key card, your key card will change position with another card. This another card is switched because its not picked and you will be following it. So you know its not the picked card, and because of 1), you know its not your key card either.

How it works

When your key card isn’t there it means that the spectator switched it with the card that was supposed to be your key card so both of them are wrong
