JoeyAK, born Joël H. in 1997 in Amsterdam, is a rapper known for his gritty lyrics that seem to mirror his life. However, his reputation goes beyond music, involving a series of legal issues.

In his youth, he faced convictions for theft and firearm possession. His criminal connections became more apparent through his association with Zone6, a group accused of engaging in various illegal activities, including coke smuggling. The group allegedly exploits youngsters from disadvantaged neighborhoods, capitalizing on their desire for the luxurious lifestyle depicted in Joey's music videos.

In 2019, JoeyAK was implicated in a kidnapping case. Allegedly, he kidnapped a woman who had stolen money he had entrusted to her, subjecting her to violence and threats. This led to his imprisonment for three years in December 2020.

Despite his legal troubles, JoeyAK's rap career thrived. His songs, often written during incarceration, garnered millions of streams. However, he faced fresh allegations, such as involvement in a 2022 shooting in Suriname, which he denied vehemently.

Another incident involved the kidnapping and assault of fellow rapper Kobus L., Joey and several Zone6 members were arrested, though his lawyer maintained his innocence.

Prosecutors also sought to confiscate €815,000, claiming Joey's wealth primarily came from illegal activities rather than his music career.

JoeyAK's life is marked by a blurred line between his music persona and real-life actions, making him a controversial figure in the Dutch rap scene.
