The diode should not be replaced . the original is an SB26 type schottky diode with a current rating of 2A . The FR1007 is rated at 1A and is NOT a suitable replacement. There should be no need to touch the diode since it is part of the secondary voltage circuit which would not be affected by the input voltage change given that the transformer primary winding has already been adjusted to produce the same secondary voltage. Also interesting to note is the the original varistor is rated at 270v so a 300v varistor should be fine to use.

after replacing the varistor, and remove the bridge, can i added the switch to the bridge, so it will work on 110v and 220v with a flick of the switch?

I have the same problem but, what happen to mind is, ,I plugged in to 220v current without doing anything yet to the charger is still possible to change the varistor or it is already broken?

Help, when I stretched out the circuit still connected. So, the capacitor is getting hot. The charger is die. Any suggestions to fix it? Thanks

Looks fairly straight forward. Good for 220VAC 60 Hz Philippines? Is there a max current to be worried about?

I modified my charger according to your instruction but it has hissing noise when charging. Is it normal? Will it damage my battery?
