It’s nice that blender added the new “smooth by angle” feature

I love that intro example animation, I never thought about animating examples directly in the viewport instead of in post

Ooor click with the e right button on the object and choose auto smooth

Another step up from this would be to bake the bevel into a normal map. This is especially good for game assets as you really dont want to be loading bevel geometry for everything in a big scene

Its crazy to what lengths people go to when its litterly just split normals.

Tutorial: /starts at step-1/
Reality: /starts at step-0 as now you need to return old AutoSmooth/

Noob question, do you have to change or redo any auto smooth or hard edges settings when importing a model from Blender to say.. Unity? If everything is imported perfectly, amazing.. but if not why trouble yourself if you'll need to tweak and redo that later?

Just for render I don't need to think about topology count
For game I can't use auto smooth in Unity for example, it's dont work I guess
What for I can use this method?

Wha?? You need exactly 0 bevel in the lowpoly if its not contributing to the Silhouette. You only need that in thr highpoly, and even ghen you could just use the bevel shader and vake it down.

3ds max does it better but £400+ isn’t worth is.
