I just cut off the top off as you did and put rooting hormone on the cut and stick it in the dirt. Works every time.

question at the place where it was cut, how is the direction of the stem now? upwards or sideways?

Hye Mr Plant. Sorry asking you something. I'm adam from Malaysia. I'm trying to propagate rubber plant using their leaf. I tried to sow the leaves using soil but failed. My question is whether the soil should always be moist or should it be watered daily or how to water it?
