The Problem With Asajj Ventress’ Return

The new trailer for The Bad Batch (Final Season) is out and lo and behold at the end of the clip Asajj Ventress appears. The same Asajj Ventress who died in Quinlan Voss' arms in the Dark Disciple. It wasn't a random death, it was the result of Asajj Ventress' long and arduous journey and transformation from a dark side assassin to a more positive charcter. Her death was supposed to be her redemption... what happens now?

Quick note, that's not an Imperial pauldron she's wearing, it's the same one with the serpent pattern that she had in the clone wars

The Clone Wars had many outstanding characters, and Asajj was one of its best. Her Charisma, the chemistry she had with others. The way they took a villain and made you feel bad for her lot in life. Then began a path of redemption. Beautiful story. Forgot she had died, but now that you mention it that is odd she came back. I hope they explain it well. I'll at least give them that chance.

The fact that she died off screen in a book always felt wrong to me. Her arc should have been resolved on screen.

I still do not know how will they explain her return since they explained that Dark Disciple is still canon. They either have to retcon a bit of Dark Disciple or make some kind of "She did die but she also lived" excuse.

For anyone wondering Brad Rau on the SW site stated “We don't want to spoil anything, but want fans to know that any new storytelling with Ventress will align with the events of Star Wars: Dark Disciple.” So take that as you will.

honestly one of the rare times i can accept a character being alive for the sake of it. being offed in a book felt so lazy, especially knowing how much content we missed with the cancellation of the clone wars before its end.

Disney canon is so screwed up, the comics and books are not truly canon as they keep retconning everything.

tbh, I fell like alot of "Cannon" books and comics should be taken with a grain of salt it can always be retconned in favor for a movie or show just look at how they retconned the Kanan jarrus comics. *BUT* am actually glad ventress came back. even though it messes up the continuity
