Imagine a celestial object with the mass of 800 suns, sparking havoc among nearby stars - you've just envisioned a midsize black hole.
Researchers may have found this rare cosmic entity in our backyard, only 6,000 light-years away in the Scorpius constellation.
Most black holes observed till now are either small or colossal.
Intermediate black holes, suspected to exist at the heart of small galaxies, remain elusive due to formation mysteries and measurement complexities.
Analyzing a decade's worth of Hubble Space Telescope data, scientists have identified a probable midsize black hole at the heart of the nearby Messier 4 star cluster.
Trapped in its gravitational pull, stars at M4's center exhibit chaotic motions, suggesting the black hole's presence.
This discovery, although unconfirmed, could amplify evidence that the universe supports these celestial middleweights, unveiling new chapters in cosmic exploration.

Bruh, I could easily be a NASA scientist. just zoom way in on any space image then make random circles in black spots and say "them there are some black holes"

what does the sub compact look like, does it get a lot better mileage.

The vacuum cleaner is stumbling around.

Black holes remind me of the eyes' retina.

In our backyard. 6000 light years away. LOL.

Why, if it's a black hole, are objects "trapped" by it, but if it's any other massive thing (planet or star) objects are orbiting? Does that mean everything in a galaxy is trapped by the central supermassive black hole? Are galaxy just expanded and evolved excretion discs?
