This is it guys, it's been done, history once again.
Huge congrats to Mitchie for pushing skateboarding, thank you

I get it that Eliot did a harder overall run, but progression should be extra rewarded, a 1260 is unheard of. I would have give it to Brusco.

Sad to think if Mitchie was just able to do basically anything significant on the big gap he would have won. But I suppose making history and still being silver is worth it.

How can you land the first 1260 and not get a gold

Right on Eliot, representing Weed Maps while skating like a champ.
What an awesome comp these guys put on. Thanks Xgames. That was fantastic.

I can't count the number of times I've watched this competition at this point. I have a few thoughts I'd like to finally share.

1) Based on the format that exists, it makes sense that Elliot won. He maximized his output based on the scoring format. Also, much respect to him for staying tough after that gnarly fall.

2) Clay got robbed of 3rd. Ronny had arguably the best gap trick for the entire event, but an alley oop varial 5 is definitely harder than a tail 3 and Clay got more amplitude than anybody. That same run he did also scored him 10 more points last year, so that doesn't make any sense. You could say that "the judges have seen it already, so they scored it lower this time." But then how do you explain Elliot winning with the exact same run he's done before?

3) Even with the format the way it is, if I was a judge, I would say screw the format and award Mitchie an even higher score. Who tf really cares about the gap tricks? The 1260 is unheard of. It's the hardest trick anyone can do on a skateboard, and he literally landed it perfectly. Anyone who says that it's easy to do on a ramp this size is dense. It's not. I'm no pro skater, but I guarantee that any pro skater would smack you upside your head for claiming that it's anything other than the hardest skateboard trick ever done.

4) The scoring format for big air needs to change, and this event proves that. The score shouldn't be distributed 50-50. Again, who tf cares about the gap tricks? Does anyone watch big air for the gap tricks? Not only that, the quarter pipe tricks are significantly more technical, more difficult, and more dangerous. It makes no sense to have the harder and more risky maneuver be weighed the same as the easier and safer one. It's dumb. It should be scored as 65-35 with the majority to the quarter pipe trick, or at the very least 60-40.

Elliot Sloan should not have one. X-Games is about pushing the sport to its limit and doing what no one has done before. Mitchie did that to a new level!

I think it's so sick whenever the hit that first trick without any grabs

AN 89.66 FOR A NBD 1260 AND MITCHIE GETS SILVER WTF X GAMES?

It's been said already, but looking at the two runs in comparison, Sloan did put together the better overall run with the 720 over the gap into the 900 with the grab. While the 1260 was an impressive trick in its own right, Brusco probably would have done well to try something with a little higher DD than the 180 off the mega ramp and still probably carried enough speed to pull off the 1260 off the quarter

What happened to replays and live streams? Sucks that you just stopped with them midway in.

While most popular sports reached their top level long time ago... Extreme-Sports are raising the bar year for year for year... endless progression...

1260 wow thats insane but its also sad to see how little anyone cared compared to the tony hawk 900 x games video.

I know the overall run counts but an 89 for a 1260🤔 You can throw a NBD 1260 & not get gold

1260 is gold, nbd full commit. Not knocking down the other run, but that’s history ...

So many people butt hurt because he got silver medal. If he would have done a 540 into 1260 he would have gotten the gold, it's all because of his weak ass 180.
