I have been in this field for 10 years and I have never actually seen EIGRP used in a network.
I did see an ad for a Network Engineer in Minnesota that wanted EIGRP experience but they are an all Cisco shop!
Most of the clients we deal with at our company are using OSPF, BGP, and/or MPLS.

Acks are not sent reliably, they would be in a loop forever.
