Primitive Technology: Build a Tiled Roof Hut on the Stream

I built this tile roof on a stream using only rudimentary tools and materials.
The entire project takes 17 days but will take 10 days is not because of illegal rain.

I wonder which country has such wonderful tranquil settings and skillful young men.
I have watched many TV survivor episodes and I'm sure any team member would have loved to have such a skillful man on their side to rely on. I'm sure nobody would call it primitive but a wise men we could learn from.

i like it... little fishing spots along the river for different times of the year... like a spread out village along the river...

The tiles don't have uniform anchor points. And also without walls a simple breeze will knock them all down.

The reason walls are built before a roof is so that a draft doesn't get under them and push them apart. That and give structural support. You can have a free-floating roof like this, as it's own weight will usually keep it in place, but only if the supports it's resting on have a solid foundation. You've just got poles. The moment a decent breeze comes in. It's going to cause the whole thing to shift and collapse.

. Yes it may flood. Lol, to observe the yearly water level. It's basically a fish pond, wash house. Would be better on the river bank.

Need to alternate the seems on the tiles to minimize leaks.

All these primitive channels make the same mistakes on their tile roofs. There should be two holes in the top of each tile so you can tie them down. Wouldn't be caught dead in that place during a strong wind.... errr.. actually, during a windstorm in that place I would probably be found saying....

I like this quite a bit. BUT: Your stone-hut and this tiled roof hut, both seem somewhat unsafe.
A storm or other "strong" weather and you may get into some trouble with those builds.
Tiles and grass - really good one :)

I don´t think that place is the best for building... only a little bit of rain and you can say good bye to your house

One good storm and that hut is gone with the fishes.

oh, i saw same technology from this australian guy) i like someone tried to repeat that
if i may suggest, firing those tiles in a furnace would be so much better. i'm afraid you not fired them enough, because australian guy had a different sound from a fired ones
also, to avoid a slits between the tiles they needs to be longer so upper row of tiles close slits from the previous row.
