Wordpress is an absolute nightmare. Avoid it like the plague. Every time it upgrades, the plugins you paid for will start acting weird or stop working entirely. Who knows when those developers will catch up with the new version? Sometimes, they don't. But you won't get a refund. The content management process is NOT intuitive and provides endless frustration when you want to deal with formatting text, placing photos, etc. I'm going to get rid of my wordpress site and probably switch to SquareSpace or Shopify. I think this video is way too kind to Wordpress. Unless you love frustration and wasting time and money, stay away from Wordpress.

If you call wordpress easy, I just can't agree. Its the most convoluted, non-user friendly cms I have ever used. I just want to change a background man. Why do simple things take hours in Wordpress that can be done in 4 clicks with another system?

Definitely very interested in static sites, static builders, with some dynamic functionality like forms.

While WordPress does allow just anyone to put out a mediocre or worse Web site, there’s another issue that developed as soon as the Internet was created; bad copy. Anyone can write anything and publish it, with no regard for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or consistent editorial style. It has led to a gradual decline in copy quality, and to the gradual demise of the copy editor, the person responsible for correcting the aforementioned elements. Your job is not over once you design a graphically appealing Web site. The final step is to have it checked by a copy editor, unless you are adept at editing copy. (Yes, I meant “Web site;” I refuse to go along with trends born from pure laziness, such as not wanting to take the time to press the Shift key or the space bar. That’s my style, and I use it consistently.)

The plugin stores need a better rating system. Users have already proven they are clueless. And we think a single composite rating based on popularity is somehow a valid indicator of a plugin's quality? Fuck no. And after they become popular, they stay popular, because new people are told to "just go with the popular thing" even if it is garbage.

Hey, Alex. All of your content is Spot-On! Thank you so much. When needed, will always look to buy something through one of your links. That is the least I can do. Thanks again!

i tried wordpress for my website cuz i wanted simple page where i can add/remove posts and have control over website without updating it every time u done little change, so i tried it and it sucks, i wanted to do simple thing, on website called blog, there willl be posts i create, at first it worked, i could simply add or remove but then i wanted to change the design, i already had an design for how each post should look like, instead of plain text with tittle and desc. i created html that was inside a square, it was centered and stuff like this, but once i wanted to implement it, i couldn't i just cant find the section where it reads from database posts and print them out how can i do that? also it sucks in creating ur own design, i could deactive theme or remove cuz whole web wont work, i wanted to have own 404page but i had to edit it through theme editor whcih has like 10 more pages i had to edit so it wont look like a shit. its very bad for people who are good in html and sql, i found out that to create an login page with sql is easier for me then using wordpress

I’m new to Wordpress and I felt limited when using it with the Elementor page builder since the free version doesn’t allow me to customize further by going into the code itself.

wordpress: I want to buy a car, but I only get the frame. The wheels, trim and electronics are provided by third parties. Maybe the car will drive at some point after 20 plugins have been installed

Hello Alex; Extremely LONG time subscriber here... back when you first started YEARS ago... Anyways, I do see a need out there static sites... But with some dynamic elements (for instance, a spa/massage website would be 100% static, unless someone wanted to buy a product on the website? Or book an appointment? I'm dealing with that right now.) Static sites are faster, cheaper/free to host, more secure, etc... One possible idea, is building everything out with familiar WordPress, paid themes, and then converting over areas of the site to static, but leaving other parts dynamic where it needs to be... See what I'm saying about the complexity it involves? Thanks!

I removed a plug-in from my Wordpress site and it completely shut my site down and I couldn’t even get into the admin portal to fix it.

WordPress is absolutely trash. You literally have to do so much just to make your website look average.

You need a million plugins and updates just to run the website. Honestly I suggest that you use anyone else.

You’ll hear WordPress sucks primarily by people who teach web development and sell web development courses not from people who actually make websites using WordPress.
