Accommodations paid by Singapore and President BBM had meetings with rich people for investment in the Philippines. What is the problem?

There are a few reasons why Marcos Jnr would attend F1 Singapore:
1. Other Asean leaders were invited, whether or not it's in an official capacity. In the Chinese culture, the rejection of an invitation can be viewed as a snub.So it's diplomacy.
2. F1 Singapore is in its own class, technically speaking. It also reaps in lots of revenue, as seen by the increase of crowd size after each F1. It is a lesson for Philippines about event management (bear in mind that little Singapore has limited area resources, as well as other resources, too - as a matter of fact). Singapore F1 was even praised by Ecclestone as "jewel of the grand prix." It is said that China never grew tired of learning from Singapore. And - lo and behold! China's growth in many areas are nothing short of "miracles"
3. F1 is not a really luxurious event - ticket prices ranged from S$98 to S$988 - certainly not something that Filipinos can't afford to pay for their president, even if he forgets to bring his wallet.
4. Marcos immediately rush back the next day for the opening ceremony of some projects. This shows that he is a rather hardworking guy.
5. Just because there are presently some catastrophes in the country, it doesn't mean the whole world (meaning the world of the Filipinos) must stand still . Catastrophes are never 1-day events and the President can visit the survivors at a later prearranged schedule. No point visiting the sites empty handed just to organise some cry parties. The presence of the President must show hope as well as strength. Besides, floods, earthquakes, etc are a common part of nature, especially in Philippines. The President would invariably be there to offer material things like food and medical aids, etc in addition to offering words of comfort. I understand there used to be a colourful party (yellow, I think) who goes to places affected by calamities for photo shoots.
6. Even if the President had gone to Singapore uninvited (which doesn't usually happen) - his presence among Singapore politicians is a mark of familiarity and close ties. Siblings can afford to gatecrash - to put an analogy, not suggesting that it happened. Remember: Marcos is just elected and it is good to visit another country to wish well on auspicious days, during events of joy and celebration. Kill two birds with one stone. Note too that Marcos had initially planned to spend 2 days in Singapore although his visit possibly happened sooner. Or it may be intentional to sync with F1, Singapore's national pride.

The one who hated marcos for this are the people who already hate him in the first place.

We never know he's also doing business while traveling!

Stop negative thinking, let's support our President so that he can maximize his potential to uplift the life of the Filipinos!
He can't do it alone, he needs Filipinos cooperation .
One day we will wake up we will be surprised for best!

Ang mali kasi dito sinadya nya yun event. It wouldn't be an issue if he went there for a "working" visit and just went to watch the race on the "sideline". Iba yun eh. Like when Du30 went to watch Pacquiao in Malaysia, it was a working visit -- a meeting with the Malaysian PM.

As an F1 fan, seeing our president there feels like he's representing us on the world stage. These naysayers don't know what an F1 event is. It is a cesspool meeting of rich men and women, investors and dignitaries, big companies, and such. I'm sure he made some useful dealings there.

And what his presence will do in those typhoon struck areas. Nothing, his appearance will not make a difference, he'll be just a nuisance there to the relief operations. Leave it to the people who do the job.

Mr. Dalipe, it will be VERY UNBELIEVABLE and DIFFICULT to convince the people that the nation's leadership will invite (some) Asean leaders for an event that may not even be helpful to a country's economics. But assuming, I believe the citizenries are supposedly expecting some "sensitivities" given the latest happening in the Philippines and the economic status in the country.

Opinion n freedom n research n analysis... Grand Prix is just a word other than financial status a very important role between Pinas n Singapore...

Spoiled brat talaga. Privilege ng pagiging presidente ang habol at hindi ang mga resposibilidad nito. Nagago na naman ang mga botante.
