The problem with the west in terms of critical thinking is that there is simply no robust interrogation of the facts, there is not a 360 degree consideration of the topic. So, Middle Nation is forcing us to reflect not only on the issues and on our shallow knowledge but also on the fact that we are being brought so late in the day to the process of critical thinking.

Jordan Peterson was great when he stuck to his original profession, psychology. But when he started giving his political and economic opinions, he lost me. Great analysis here as usual. Adam Smith even said that capitalism is only viable in a society that has strong ethical prerogatives. Anyone who believes capitalism has self-corrective mechanisms built into it are fools. It has to be heavily regulated and substantially supported by non-private institutions if it is to work at all.
