November 26, 1988 - Aired prior to their NBA Finals rematch, Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas swapped stories on what it meant to be on the winning side and losing side of their seven game championship series from the season prior.

Isiah would complete his redemption arc before the season was out, leading a Pistons revenge tour that culminated in a four-game sweep of the Lakers in the 1989 NBA Finals, clinching Detroit's first ever NBA championship.

Now that I’m older I see what Detroit went thru. Pure hell.. probably had a 3 peat, 88, 89, 90, but they pulled thru. And well the bad boys created another monster. The Chicago Bulls.

One of the greatest what ifs is if Byron Scott played in the 89' finals and if Magic played after game 2. I think the Pistons had the resolve to win it in 7 games but we were robbed of a classic rematch

I appreciate Isiah's candor here.

Still don't like Magic for the way he shaded Isiah since 88. Magic never felt Isiah was supposed to beat him and Larry. Never. He never wanted to lose to Isiah, and once he did, he changed on Zeke. Then the aids thing hit, the Dream team bullshit and Magics desire to sell that lame ass book about him and Larry, he used Isiah to get publicity for that book.
