Nice close-up of the valley flashing. Your a brave man Ken. I hate walking on a roof when it is wet. Your doing work on the roof when it has frost, oh boy! I'd be too chicken to go on an unscheduled butt slide to the ground.
I'm surprised the customer didn't want to tie the garage to the house with a breezeway instead of having a garage porch.

I just had this done on my house with the W valley flashing on my portico and I asked him the same question. Basically they just pounded the top section flat to do the overlap like you showed. It's under the asphalt cap shingles so you can't see it.

Good morning Ken absolutely done in perfection on valley flashing, it's incredible how you move around on the roof it .get the young guys up there I know it's hard too step back we're the same age and I plans of many vacations in near future ands it's not with a cane or scooter lol ..I have step back myself..even as superman kryptonite has it's effective on us, we call old age ..so great video my friend, step back or figure the roofs in the bids with subcontractors...lol 🌴😎
