What Should I Do After I’ve Opened a SCAM Email?

If you’ve opened a spam email (but have not clicked or downloaded anything), be sure to do the following:

Don’t just unsubscribe!

Mark it as junk email so that your email client (Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or another provider) can do a better job of sending malicious emails directly to your spam folder.

Scan your computer for ransomware, trojan horse viruses, and other malware just in case. Scammers can use these to hack your email account.

Tell friends, family, and your employer (if it was sent to your work address) to steer clear of similar email messages. This may prevent further damage like family identity theft.

Do not engage with any sketchy looking emails, since it's probably phishing spam—and never reply to it directly.

I clicked on a Gmail that said "cvs" confirmation code on my Android phone. It opened for a second, then just disappeared. Should I be worried about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello. I accidentally clicked. on a spam mail that got through my mail filters. It was something relating to some shipping confirmation. I did not click on any links pr agreed to download anything nor did i see any pop ups that indicated that something was downloaded- i just clicked on the recipient’s name because it seemed odd and thats when i realized that this was a spam mail or something along those lines. a banner with a shipping logo loaded but thats all i could see because i immediately exited the email, blocked the sender and deleted the email altogether. I then deleted all of my browser history and changed my apple id password. I am still freaked out though, do I have to worry about being hacked or something like that now? Thanks so much
