I remember applying to just my community college, I know it's very easy to get in a community college and not as big of an accomplishment as getting into Yale or Harvard, but seeing that acceptance email saying I'm officially a student gave me such pride. I applied to the college on my own, without my parents help. I felt like I was becoming more independent and more of an adult. You deserve everything you've been given no matter how small or big you think it is. You deserve to feel that pride.

This reminds me of my middle school/highschool (I'm currently a senior and will be graduating next year in March). The only way you get to enroll is if you get straight A grades for all subjects in finals during 6th grade. All of us who got in basically spent our entire highschool life, thinking whether we actually deserved to be part of the school so every time when an assembly is being held, we have to constantly be reminded that we deserve to study there but I'm able to now convince myself that I deserved a place in the school and will definitely miss it despite all the peer pressure

In Australia, middle school and high school and college is one thing. It’s the same. We grad at year 6 and grad again at year 12. Then university is where we get a job.
