Anyone who knew Sven clearly didn't have a bad word to say. As a fan looking in he had such a calm cool way. Loved his life.

Great memories from Sven England. Only lost to Great teams at major tournaments. Did his best for Us so we’re very grateful. Thanks Sven RIP❤️❤️

Simon Jordan an honest yet respectful and tactful contribution - you have gone up in my estimation ! I like many felt what could have been with Sven but he is a human I would love to have met and would love to have had as a boss - sleep well

As a Scot I can remember thinking after he was appointed that he seemed a nice guy
After hearing a few of his interviews he became more likeable.
I hoped he would do well with England.
I also remember the media and their no morals approach with him.
I will leave my feelings towards them out for now.
I think the huge majority of people can relate to him because he was so down to earth and a decent guy.
He bowed out with dignity.
A loss to the world.
RIP Sven ❤👃

Apparently Sven when asked if he had any final wishes, he replied

"I wish .... I wish I wish

I wish I had played 3 in midfield with Scholes in the holding role and Stevie, Lamps being able to do what their best at ahead of him .... " 😂

I am absolutely positive, being a man of great sense of humour, Sven would've appreciated that.

RIP, Sir. Thank you allowing the Country to drink at 7am in 2002 🙏🏽

SGE was a very humble man but I remember many ppl with negativity towards him.

This shows that even ppl with contempt now bow down to ( common ) good, such is the power of the Divine.

I have to say he seemed a nice bloke and very eloquent. He was an interesting character but after a promising start, a decent manager became very pedestrian in latter stages of tournaments. Still, very sad and he gave us some good memories.

As a Welshman of 38 years, I've seen many come and go from the English dugout with various degrees of success in the role of England.

The difference with Sven was that of all the managers I've seen in charge of your squads, he genuinely made you believe that something could be won. Southgate, Hodgson etc never convinced me that winning a tournament was going to happen for England, but Sven always had me worried...

The reason we played Brazil in the QF in 2002 is because we failed to win our group. If we had, we would have played Senegal then Turkey instead of Denmark then Brazil.

The papers are mentioning his last game in charge of Man City where they lost 8-1 but forget the context and importance of this game on English football. That year UEFA gave a European place to the team with the least red and yellow cards over Europe. Man City where top of the fair play league but had a man sent off in the game. Another yellow or red card would have put their European place in jeopardy. The owner at the time was in political and financial turmoil and after this season the current owners purchased the club. This shows the man Sven was because if he told the team to attack and tackle after the sending off they may not had been in Europe. How important was this to the current owners when they brought the club? Would they have declined to buy or lower their valuation? Could they have achieved the standard of players if they were not in Europe? These are only what ifs because Sven accepted what needed to be done to get into Europe.

Sven wasnt well liked by the public when he was england boss. He also had too many off field issues which didnt help his cause. Rip though. Sven enjoyed his life tremendously

Nice tributes but I noticed this interview was done only with Jim White, did Lampard refuse to do the interview if Simon Jordan was involved? Is there bad blood?
