I'm thrilled to hear Boss has not only managed to developed an analog BBD replacement for the VB-2, but actually made it sound better than the original. I, perhaps stupidly, sold on my VB-2 several years ago, but I am feeling the need to replace it. Imagine my shock to discover the VB-2 I sold for $250 was now going for upwards of $500. I have a bit of an aversion to the modelling pedals. I prefer straight up digital effects like delay and reverb, or straight up analog, like the old BBD units. That's why I've hung on to my FZ-3 Fuzz and AC-2 Acoustic Simulator. My favorite OD/DS is still the BD-2 Blues Driver. No COSM for me, thanks.

I must say, however, that I don't think most reviewers really understand the point of the Vibrato pedal, because all the video reviews I see focus on making outlandish sounds of little usefulness. The Vibrato pedal is best employed subtly, or for simulating that shoegazer strumming while hanging on the the whammy bar sound (à la My Bloody Valentine) on a guitar where that's not possible.

This video is great, because it's the only one I've seen that really focuses on the tasteful uses of the Vibrato pedal. Thanks again, Boss. The new Waza Craft line is makinng me reconsider my whole outlook. I want every one of them except for the SD-1w

Hopefully, this don't make vintage VB-2s any less valuable. They're very rare, after all. Luckily, this will allow me a bit of that vintage taste.
