What's the Difference Between Gain and Volume?

Many amplifiers have two knobs that seem to make you louder. One is usually labeled "gain" or "input" or "drive". The other is usually labeled "volume" or "master".

Towards the end I like how you use the word distortion specifically, you use it as a broad term (like minimal tube breakup vs max tube breakup and everywhere in between) which is way more helpful than the straight forward "hard rock=distortion" usage.
Very well done, you said more helpful words in a more concise way and very quickly but without rushing.
I tend to cendense gain and volume in my head as pre and post, specifically like many peavey amps with the pre gain and post gain knobs working in unison (vs gain and volume or level)
