Women in Governance: Hina Jilani and Karuna Nundy

September 15, 2023 — In the first episode of Asia Society India’s new series entitled “Women in Governance,” lawyer and chair of Pakistan’s Human Rights Commission Hina Jilani speaks with Supreme Court of India Advocate Karuna Nundy about gender in society, the similarities and divergences in India and Pakistan, and the experiences of advocating for gender and human rights through legal, governmental, and activist efforts. "Women in Governance" is Asia Society India Center’s conversation series featuring women in South Asia talking about their personal, professional, and political pathways and experiences. How does a gendered experience of the world change the way you live in it? What kind of courage does it take to live in a world of immediate, constant hostility and what does it take to make a new world, piece by piece? These one-on-one conversations aim to reflect on how to build stronger, more resilient, and more inclusive societies for women in South Asia.
