The Human Color - Artist Documentary

Finishing up the documentary I've been shooting for Blank Canvas Mural Company over the last year. Adam Schrimmer is a talented artist and muralist in Greenville, South Carolina. The style and message he brings to his work are unlike anything I've ever seen. His story of how he used art to help him through life and how he is using it now to help those who are less fortunate is a powerful story.

His program, COMP [ Communities of Opportunity Mural Program], is a mural creating a program with the thought that among other things, public art can change public health.

His murals are not only changing the landscape of Greenville South Carolina but the hearts and minds of those who live in it. He is also shining a light on communities that people have forgotten about.

Using Paint By Number murals to get the kids and families of communities to come together and work on something they can all take pride in.

With annual events like Artisphere that come to Greenville, it's nice to see a local artist with just as much talent. And being able to see his work anytime is something special. Now you have the chance to learn about the inspiration and meaning behind some of your favorite murals in and around Greenville, South Carolina.
