The Center Hatch On Your Cuda

Hello- I'm considering purchasing a Cuda. However, with all the details carefully scrutinized about the boat, this center hatch seems like an afterthought because the oval access points into the boat have a very nice seal and seem well built but this hatch that is secured with two straps/buckles, just doesn't seem right. Watching you take it off, it doesn't even look like it has any kind of seal and is not secured with a tie-down. Is this design intent? Can you elaborate more on the thinking?
