My brothers, my mom & dad can’t understand how I’m so happy despite hitting rock bottom. I just got out of jail for a DUI.

I lost a lot of things including respect but I got over my crippling social anxiety in jail.

Everyone leaves me alone these days and it’s nice because before I hit rock bottom, people kept trying to control me. Now they all see me as a “lost cause” or a failure/loser.

When I was in jail, many of the CO’s couldn’t understand why I smiled so much despite being in jail and not having any belongings. Solitary confinement wasn’t painful, but rather a spiritual experience for me. Solitary confinement enlightened me.

I no longer feel ashamed when I’m walking around in my old work clothes. I have torn up shoes, lots of different fast food worker shirts and hats. I wear this stuff because it was free clothes and that Chipotle hat keeps the Sun lights out of my face. My shoes didn’t cost and $300 but they did cost $35 at one point and now they’re worth trash. I live with my aunt and uncle @ 26 yrs of age and yet I smile just as I did in jail.

If I’m not a success by society’s standards then so be it. I’m not trying to be.

Imo .. he was trying to get him to accept the pain of life.. and just allow himself to be … to live in the moment.. even if it’s not perfect.. accepting perfect imperfections
