Hey everyone for this review I take on Typoman Revised for the Playstation 4. Its also on Steam, Wii U, and Xbox One. This is a fun puzzle platformer that is dark gloomy and challenging but does it have enough to be worth buying?

I did receive this game from the publisher for the purpose of this review.

My reviews are 100% unbiased and I will never do one unless I am confident enough to do so. I use a scale of 1 - 10 with 5 being a average game. Many professional reviewers use 7 as a average game which I find is more of a trick to convince you the consumer that a game is better then it really is.

This is one of the main reasons I gave up on Nintendo. So many of the games that were once thought to be eShop exclusives were making the jump to Sony and other platforms. I was seeing everything from Shovel Knight, Shantae, Aeterno Blade and more... which all debuted on Nintendo hardware... suddenly cut ties and journey elsewhere. The difference was that on other platforms the games looked sharper, came with achievements/trophies, and often times became cheaper than what Nintendo was still asking for them. If I can get a better looking version of a game for cheaper AND get trophies/achievements out them... why on earth would I still stick with Nintendo? It's not like they were churning out AAA titles on the Wii U at a consistent rate- that system had more droughts than games.

And yet again, here's Typoman, another once-exclusive eShop game, making it's way over to other platforms. This is part of why I'm none too eager for the Switch. Yet again, the hardware's under powered. Yet again, there's no Trophy/Achievement system. In principle, it feels like Wii U all over again. Sure, the Switch is portable... but who honestly is gonna lug that thing to work or school? No self-respecting employer wants his employees goofing around on Mario Kart and the risk of thefts at schools is so high that anybody with common sense wouldn't bring their Switch to school anyways. Portability just isn't a good enough selling point for a number of people, me included.

Thank you for review! This nice little game is definitely worth the money and attention. Typoman has many pros - story presentation, original ideas, disturbing game atmosphere, inventive level design and puzzles, gradual learning curve, balanced difficulty, easy and responsive controls and atmospheric audiovisuals. There are not many cons - just clunky rearranging of letters when creating words, just one and sometimes quite complicated solution of each puzzle and maybe the absence of some co-op multiplayer that would make the game more suitable for family playing. I can recommend the game for older kids only. At first, they need to have quite good knowledge of English and also they will less likely have the nightmares caused by the oppressive game atmosphere.

I wanted to post that the trophy Antonymizer is unattainable as of the 23rd of Febuary but the devs have notied it and are working on a patch for it

I remember seeing a preview of this game at E3 2015 while it was still in development. It looked like a very interesting title then, and it sounds like it didn't disappoint on the entertainment factor!

Ok so we finally agree on a game score! I'm shocked, but mean that as a compliment. I already got the Platinum a bit back, but I was curious what ppl had said again as I was recommending it to ppl. The antonymizer achievement will add length, but honestly not the most fun at times. It adds an interesting element, but it was not necessary, or at the very least drawn out. Overall a good time, but a little stiff at times, maybe it's the one arm thing slowing him down. 😂😂😂
