The Lord of the Rings : The Two Towers. Aragorn speaks to Eowyn.

Plot :
Frodo (Elijah Wood), who carries the Ring, and his fellow Hobbit Sam (Sean Astin) are lost in the hills of Emyn Muil when they encounter Gollum (Andy Serkis). He volunteers to guide the pair to Mordor, but Sam does not trust him.

At the same time, Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) are attempting to pass through Fangorn Forest where they discover a most unusual creature named Treebeard (John Rhys-Davies).

Finally, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and Legolas (Orlando Bloom) arrive in Rohan to discover that the evil powers of Saruman (Christopher Lee) have robbed King Theoden (Bernard Hill) of his rule.

Gandalf (Ian McKellen) offers his help as the Rohan attempts to face down Saruman's armies. They soon discover how great the task before them truly is when they learn that his troops consist of 10,000 bloodthirsty creatures specially bred to fight to the death.

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best scenes in Two Towers. hunting. Scenes like this made the whole trilogy, a believable story, fantastic dialogues and atmosphere.

I agree that Éowyn and Aragorn would have possibly made a good couple, but Faramir was quite literally made for her. Besides, even if Arwen wasn't exactly the most involved character, Aragorn was deeply in love with her.

I see so much of myself in Eowyn now. She's a skilled fighter who's developed impressive composure and focus, but it came at the price of living a secluded life that was incompatible with who she was, without enough consistent, positive support from healthy, like-minded people outside of her family. She doesn't expect anybody, let alone a handsome man like Aragorn, to look out for her or show much empathy or interest in her so soon after meeting. Her body language and spoken words until the end of this scene all have an atmosphere of finality, like she just expects him to move on and focus on things "more important" than how she feels. But Aragorn sees right through it without any judgement, encouraging her to think and hope for herself as much as who and what she fights for. This gives her another reason to worship/love him: He sees her as a human rather than a standard she has to set for the sake of everyone else. Even though she and Aragorn were never meant to be, she still needed to meet him to break the spell of downgrading herself that she and Rohan cast on her.

Although I loved Arwen and Aragon as a couple in The Fellowship of The Ring, there was a part of me that really hoped Eowyn and him would get together instead after seeing The Two Towers. She just seems so well made for him - spirited, brave and high-minded - and it was sad how Aragon couldn't return her love. Aragon and Arwen were lovely together and yet ... well, to be honest, I find Arwen kind of boring as a character.
