"You tell your boyfriend if he says he's got beef that I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fucking scared of him" is still one of my favorite lyrics

Finally someone has acknowledged Ke$ha's impact on pop music. Huge thanks!

They were so much fun and so good to listen to, they didn’t take themselves seriously which I thought made them instantly likable and you knew every song they did was in good fun. 2009 and 2010 were a time to be alive and have fun with one another, go out partying and just being yourself. Man I miss that time period

2008-2010 trashy pop music is so iconic though.

I loved these guys when I was in high school and I worshipped Kesha back then. I still don’t regret it. They had so many bangers.

They were the “City Boys” of the early 2000s 😭

Not gonna lie, 2010s music is such hype music. Sometimes I listen to 2010s music to boost my mood and energy lmfao

One thing many may not realize about a lot of the artists who broke around this time and still remained relevant: they grew and evolved their sound over time to prove they weren't just about parties and clubs. Lady GaGa, whose first few big songs fit in that lane, was able to show that she could use her dynamic vocal range and ability to switch genres and sounds to keep her relevancy even to this day. With Kesha, she evolved as well, and people gained more of an appreciation for her as an artist and what she was capable of (especially in the wake of what happened to her because of He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named). These guys, though, they didn't display enough range or variety to their sound other than loud, flashy, and obnoxious party stuff. They never evolved or showed any growth after their hit-making years, so to that end, they ended up in the same lane as acts like Asher Roth and Kreayshawn.

I’ve been a huge fan since ‘08! If anyone doesn’t know, Sean and Nat are the most down to earth, sweetest people you’ll ever meet. They both truly care about their fans and the last show I went to, they let anyone go on the stage and sing Don’t Trust Me with them.

I’ve talked to them off and on since 2012 and when I first met them, Sean remembered me and they later sent me signed thank you card in the mail. I’ll always have a lot of respect for 3OH!3.

i feel like they were such an underrated duo, i started listening to them when they did that collab with Kesha.

i think the main reason they faded into obscurity while Kesha did not is because Kesha has always been _so_ much more than just a basic popstar. you could tell from the first listen of Animal that she had a passion and vibrancy which made her stand out. her fantastic artistic evolution was just gravy! 3Oh!3 on the other hand never developed a strong fanbase, and they didn’t really grow with their sound

I recently played their music in the car with my friends and it was such a throwback! I miss this era of pop where the music was trashy but somehow still clean enough to play around your parents.

OMG, I forgot about them! They blew up when I was in my freshman year in college in a predominantly white state in the midwest and my first best friend was a typical all-American white guy that knew lyrics to all the black rap songs dating back to 2Pac and Biggie Smalls lmao. Good times. 😂😂😂 They were played in every house party we went to, including the Partyrock song, Ke$ha was big too, and Black Eyed Peas I Gotta Feeling was everywhere too. Man! This just brought back so many memories!!! Lmao

I love that you go over 2000's artists that are now somewhat obscure. The nostalgia hits hard as a millennial.

It's so frustrating that we can't watch music documentaries WITH the music discussed because of YouTube's ridiculous copyright system!

That was the mainstream persona, but they were more of a parody act. They made fun of the sleazy bar culture with their over the top lyrics which becomes clear if you listen to and follow the flow of their albums. Streets of Gold for example is simple shallow and over the top, but with songs like R.I.P. they explain how they fell for the shallow non comittal life of drinking themselves blind and sleeping with every girl willing to have them. Another great example of their narrative is embodied in their tongue in cheek song Mad At You. They cleverly left off the rest of the lyric to telegraph how their personas actually feel about the situation, they act incredibly shallow and flippant while talking to the cheating girlfriend to hide feeling broken hearted and destructively depressed. Need may be one of their best albums being a comical tale of trying to sustain that frat boy lifestyle into middle age and how off putting it is. Songs like I’m So Sad and Taco Tuesday really shine a spotlight on how uniquely off putting it is to see people, specifically men, in their late thirties acting like twenty-somethings. Just like the message in their music, their mainstream personas may be shallow and bombastically slutty but it belies a much deeper message of why people may choose a lifestyle of boozy shallow partying over risking the pain of committed relationships and family life and how destructive these decisions can be.

I had a 3OH!3 hoodie from Hot Topic that I wore religiously in middle school. I loved their collabs with Kesha the most
