Pon no Michi | EPISODE 1 - Nashiko's First Pass (ENGLISH SUB)

Nashiko Jippensha, a high school student living in Onomichi, is thrown out by her mother. Learning that she has nowhere else to go, her father offers her the use of an old mahjong club that he used to run, but which is now abandoned. With the help of her friends, Pai Kawahigashi and Izumi Tokutomi, Nashiko sets about renovating the club and, in the process of tidying up, meets a strange talking bird known as the "mahjong spirit". And so the three friends embark on a game of mahjong, the first of many.

Es triste saber que en promedio un anime de 12 episodios regularmente (y aunque suene increíble) cuesta entre 2.5 y 3 millones de dólares y supongo que es mas o menos la perdida que tuvieron en este caso :(

The drawing is excellent and the design of the characters is balanced, the music feels very light. The problem I see is very predictable, the rest of the world doesn't really know Mahjong, I know the game from the video games of the 80s but I never understood how it works and that was the cultural barrier that bogged down this project. I'm going to be honest, I liked this first episode because I don't feel the characters are pretentious like Komi-san or shocking like SAO. I'll take a day to watch each chapter and give you my opinion on each one.
