Wouldn’t it be nice if your clothes could keep you as cool as your A/C? This new, durable fabric coating can cool the wearer by up to 15 degrees Fahrenheit without using any additional energy, thanks to special crystals that reflect both infrared and ultraviolet light.

Navy Blue is the best color to protect you from UV rays. While white is the best color to keep you cool

So there seems to be some indications that this could be safe for the consumer who wears it … what is there to be said about the safety of persons doing labors in the treatment + manufacture processes of creating such garments?

Barium is fairly toxic, but conceivably could be substituted with other divalent cations of similar size

i heard on SciShow that infrared might be beneficial for our health, so this might have drawbacks

I wonder if there are any negative effects to humans from the added chemicals. Seems highly likely they could leach out caused by heat and perspiration.

Can you share a link to any papers on this?

What kind of polymer is being used?
If it’s hydrocarbon-based, it seems like coating our clothing in what might be plastic would reduce the importance of “no additional energy”.

White color non woven PLA fabric has better properties than that of the Barium Sulfate / Calcium Carbonate coated fabric

Just a little advice, when talking about smth scientific or technical, use the appropriate units. Most of the world has no idea what 15 °F in the right units is. Best would be to use Kelvin, but Celsius would also be alright, since they use the same scale.

And for those wondering, 15 °F is about 9, 4 K.
