Hello,

I love the way late Victorians used to dress so I took inspiration from an 1893 princess/corselet skirt and an 1899 great coat to make a high waisted skirt. I didn't want to bone it so I tried to find alternatives to boning. Please note this video is not a tutorial. I wanted to show you how I made my skirt and not how Victorians made their skirts.

I suffer from back problems as well; I find wearing a corset provides great support and significantly reduces my back pain. I’m glad your skirt helped your back!

It’s coming together very well! I like how you adjusted it once you realized you couldn’t breathe. That type of detail is so important when making clothes you actually want to wear.

Can’t wait for the next one🤗

Love it! Once you started whip stitching the edges it all just comes together beautifully.
