Beijing has slammed the visit by former British prime minister Liz Truss to Taiwan as she called on allies to strengthen economic engagement with the self-ruled island in the face of pressure from mainland China. Truss started her five-day trip on May 16, 2023, the first by a former British leader to the island since 1996. The Chinese embassy in London slammed her visit as a “dangerous political show” that would escalate tensions in the Taiwan Strait.

Truss wants her job back from Sunak. There are 3 high profile actions to garner possible vote. Sunak used one by hugging Zelensky. Suella Braverman denounced immigrants, and thus Truss has only one option left, hug Taiwan to irritate China.

The UK and it people have ABSOLUTELY no credibility to talk about Taiwan independent when the UK does NOT allow Scottish Independent without the consent of London, said so by the UK Supreme Court (Period). Yes I did included the people of the UK. If the people of the UK care about self-determination then they should show at least the same level of support for Scottish independent as they do to Taiwan independent.
