I still love the idea of having a simulation of a classic amplifier sound. Thank you, again, for having this available for all us viewers.

An electrical engineer friend told me that Leo Fender got the actual tube circuitry from the RCA tube schematics examples. From what this engineer told me, Leo just duplicated what they had done for TVs. I don't know if that is true, but it sure makes sense to me.

Great video, JB. I really like the Fullerton Norm with the Blackface (1x12) Deluxe cab, but I typically do like the 60's sound over that of the 50's tweed. Thanks for covering this - keep it up!

That intro is fn hilarious. Kudos for putting your cam (phone?) and Helix both in your oven for reels (pun intended).

excellent video. love your passion for this stuff.
Those 2 cabs have different mics on them, do you think that makes much of a difference in terms of the fidelity, as you said?
Also, another quick question, do you use your helix live, and how do you do the cab thing?... with frfr, or some actual cab, or some powered cab with built in cab sim? I'm fairly new to understanding the way this stuff works in a live context.

The early Marshalls are slightly tweaked Bassman circuits, but they aren't terribly different than the early Deluxe circuits as far as the general circuit.

You have this thing sounding fantastic.

Wonder if that’s Harbor Blvd and Commonwealth. Almost impossible to tell based on how it looks today.

Hi - I've been using Helix since it came out, too.. primarily for live use. Love it more all the time! as i start to try to do more recording with it, i am a little confused by levels for the presets, into the interface and in the DAW. Do you use live patches when recording? So much of what I had seen about setting preset levels and main knob levels seems to recommend that higher settings there are better, but that totally doesn't seem to work for recording... do you use same presets for live and recording? my interface has to be set really low to avoid peaking, but often that leaves me without much signal actually getting to the DAW...thanks!

Why does Helix hardware sound so much better than the plugin? I know it's the same code, so I credit the AD/DA circuits, which is a fascinating observation in and of itself. :)

ok I have done a bit of research on my main British supplier & yes there are a couple of products I could go for .. ( 1st my wifes Birthday this month so that's out but next month ? ) I could easily go for the basic pod or the Stomp box modeller as my one guilt free purchase .. or hang on for a Big onetime only around £400 / - or swing the other way & go for a Variax Guitar 1st ?? But mostly I would love that chair you are sliding around on so easily lol . I fractured my spine 3 hairline fractures / about (15 years ago ) the lower back area ( lucky to be walking one Doctor said ) Any way my spine is now curved & although I have good & bad days I also have a damaged left knee So almost everything that needs to be adjusted has to be at waist height or I can't use it . I can use foot pedals & switch things on & off with both feet ( Not Bragging but I could probably do a John Paul Jones & use a big Organ style thing / as I find it quite easy to play two keyboards at once / just at a basic blues boogie style ) the same as I can play Drums with my feet & sing & play guitar again just bluesy stuff .. I don't have complete independence .. But I only have Windows Computer /s So I need to find out if I need a Mac ' I am thinking of going for Broke with New Apple M1 .. Sometime soon . But That chair looks so classy & comfy .. I have had brand new & 2nd hand over the years & it is the one item No one seems to mention in the " Home studio for Blah Blah Buck's all you need in a box " lol Warren Huart ( ? ) in his channel did a 5 things you need & I bought them all still not sounding as good as my old cassette 4 track ( cannot get the tapes easily anymore But I still use it as a sub mixer ( put smiley face emoji here ) . Now onto part three.

Ok I now Know that Line 6 does work with windows & Cubase which I have & Variax Standard goes for about half a years budget .. ( i don't like to get into monthly payments if I can avoid it . Life has too many variables . ) So onto part three & honestly JB I am not looking for a pen pal or in need of Validation yes it is nice to get a Like but I am not expecting you to write any replies really. I can research most of the stuff . I bet that chair was a present lol . moving on .
