Back in the 80s, I sang this song in my show at The Golden Nugget casino in Atlantic City and one time, Ms. Natalie Cole herself was playing in the big showroom. I sent a 'fan letter' to her dressing room and told her how much I admired her and that I was doing this song in my show. That night after her own show, she came to see my last show of the night. I was thrilled! There is an unwritten rule in the biz that if someone famous comes to see your show, they stay at their table and you go out to them afterwards to say hello and thank them for coming. They don''t come to you. But not so with Natalie. She came running up to me after my show and was so kind and complimentary and down to earth. Just a lovely person. I'll never forget it. Rest in Peace, Natalie.

One of the most beautiful songs ever, sung by a lovely woman.

when i was a child with no understanding about intimate or special love... i listen to this song when my grandma fell asleep but the record player still plays and this song is on the track.. i felt sad that time and i understand that this song is all about two people parting ways and the woman on the song that she only used to love that man. listening to this song now is so different from the past, sounds kind weird if i visualizes like watching a TV with slight static... and now i realize we had HIFI systems from the past

She had bigger hit songs, but this is my favorite. Rest well, Natalie, and we will always love you and your beautiful voice.

I loved this song when I was much younger and remember when Kanye West sampled it in  "Heard 'Em Say"  featuring Adam Levine. Rest in peace Miss Cole. You will be missed.

To me this was her finest song. Streisand attempted it but could not top Natalie's delivery. 5/2020

I love her rendition of this song. She was adept at so many different styles of music; Pop, R&B, Jazz, Adult Contemporary...Her talent will sorely be missed.

RIP Natie, I loved you and I miss you SO much (like crazy, actually). You left us way too early, just like your legendary father.
