This was the first dance for me and my wife. We’ve been married for 48 years.

Legend! Best song ever it will never get old. It always brings such a warm and almost nostalgic mood. I adore it!

One or my favorite songs. So simple yet eloquent in its own way. The best line ...his clothes are dirty but his hand are clean and you're the best thing he ever seen.

Greatest love song ever. A man's love and desire professed in simple truth and melody !!

I just float when I hear this beautiful song. I was a high schooler when this song came out. Beautiful memories.

I remember this song. I was in the U.S. Coast Guard in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. I was a signalman/quartermaster. I was told to practice my Morse code and send some traffic. I sent the first stanza of this song out and the response from the Navy was not well received.

I think this is only the 2nd time I've ever searched and pulled this deeply, poignant tune up. I really like this remastered version. I've never commented, but this was the single most played song my mother rigged to play over and over after her divorce from my father, which she deeply lamented. She would sit 10 feet away staring into her dresser mirror, drinking dry martinis shortly after dinner..."till the break of day". Methodically, she drank herself to death by age 36. I was 12...my sister 14. Amazingly, she (Shirli) always made it to work as a registered dietitian and later as a vocational rehab counselor after only a couple hours sleep. Early Monday morning, 9-3-1973 my older sister's and my first day of school, she took her last breath while sitting up clutching her heart, as my sister witnessed. Take care of and love your mother, unconditionally, as much as she loves you. No one is perfect but I know she loved us and did her best before rehab was en vogue. I will always love her, forgive her, and look forward to seeing her again. To any alcoholics or substance abusers who have children especially, I hope this helps steer and keep you on the right path to recovery.

Poignant and beautiful today as the day it was written.

I was 18, and was most fortunate to know to a 23 year old woman and this was the song I put on to tell her exactly how I felt about her one night, her boyfriend was out partying at a bucks' party and my mate lived with them was also out. Well everyone at the time rated her as the hottest, sexiest, young mum with legs that made them a true stairway to heavan. Lots tried to have their way with her but that night Bob Dylan got me laid with this song. We were drinking and smoking, I put this album on and by the time he got to the words "his clothes are dirty but his hands are clean" we made the most passionate lover, ever and yes it was morning when we stopped, but only cause the boyfriend and his biker mates were due to return. If we'd been 5 minutes longer, I would've been dead. Thanks Linda XXX, you were the best I'd ever had, and now I'm 51 and still single. Thank you very much Bob Dylan for penning the song that made the impossible thought a very real act of passion, Thanks to the best ever singer/song writer that has ever and will ever, walked earth .
I'm dreading the day that's approaching very fast now when the world will mourn the death of our beloved BOB ZIMMERMAN. PEACE

This is for sure one of Dylans most beautiful songs of all time. The music is so well played and never before have Bob sung so amazing! The lyrics is so identifying.. I see this girl in my head when he sings "I long to see you in the morning light"... Thanks a lot, Dylan! :-)

On the bus heading to summer camp looking out the window sad because I miss my mom already is what comes to mind. America was a different place then.

glad I was an original sixties early twenties hippy. this was the most amazing time. probably never see the like of it again. hope you old one's still remember how it was and how we were. we had faith even in an uncertain future. what they have now? emptiness and nothing.
