Having taken one of Greg's thunderbolt smashes to the face during a University match, I can confirm that he knows what he is talking about! He was very apologetic about it haha. Great tutorial :D

Even for a badminton coach like me, these tips are great review materials to enhance my teaching. Plus some of the research facts are pretty interesting. Never knew the optical hitting point is toward the inside! Great vid~

Fantastic video, love the slow mo/pause showing Praveen Jordan's loose grip. A lot of information there, thank you!

Over the years I've found little bits of information about how to generate a powerful smash, but nothing that goes in to the detail your video has. Thank you for breaking it down. I will attempt to put it in to practice next club night. :-)

Just want to add another personal tip that many players don't know about is to have confidence in your smashes. Many times especially newer players (even myself sometimes) will quickly notice that as the shuttle is up and they try to smash, they feel discouraged as if they can't hit it right. How to gain confidence is of course, to keep practicing. There is no easy way to become better at something if you don't sharpen yourself often. Like everything, it's not always about the physical side of things, but also mentally.

So now I know how I hurt my shoulder. I thought my racket might have been strung too tightly, but smashing without enough torso rotation makes more sense. Thank you....although a year too late :) lol.... better late than never. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

So pleased to have found this channel! My son and I started playing when our local sports centre reopened recently. We're still learning the basics of course but are really enjoying the content you two are providing. Best of luck with this!

I was so trash at badminton that players used to laugh at me. After watching your videos on grip, serve, returns, etc. I practiced at home and when I went back to play, I shocked them..
Thank you so much :)
