After TN Bandh, Kannada Chaluvali Paksha chief and Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj has called for a Karnataka bandh on April 12 against Tamil Nadu's protest demanding the formation of Cauvery Management Board. Tamil Nadu is observing a bandh today in this regard. Thus speaking on the occasion, Vatal has said that Karnataka did not have any intention of holding a bandh, but Tamil Nadu's pressure tactics to the Centre have forced the state to hold a bandh.

MK Stalin, working president of the DMK was arrested today, along with other political leaders, while he was leading protests demanding the formation of the Cauvery management board. Normal life in the state has come to a standstill, while Thoothukudi and Chennai's public transportation is running smooth, almost all shops in cities like Vellore, Salem and Namakkal were shut, with no vehicles on the roads too.

The police arrested two men from Kollam over the murder of folk singer and former RJ Rajesh Kumar. BTech graduates Yassim Aboobacker and Nikhil are among the main accused in the case. Thiruvananthapuram native Rajesh was hacked to death on March 27 by a 4-member gang who reached his studio in a red car. Expat businessman Abdul Sathar, the husband of the woman with whom Rajesh had an extra-marital relationship, is regarded as having funded the murder.

Andhra Pradesh Police has busted a flesh trade racket run by a woman after receiving inputs from her estranged husband. The incident was reported in Piduguralla village in Guntur district. According to the report, Masthan Vali and Ashabi were staying in Piduguralla village for the past few years. However, the couple separated due to some domestic dispute. A few days later, Masthan approached the police and told them that his wife runs a human trafficking racket through which she sends girls to Dubai on the pretext of providing them employment. But, after reaching Dubai, the girls are forced into prostitution.
