Most helpful weed channel. I've been doing the occasional edible since 2016 but only last year (2022) did I dip into vaping thc(I don't do well with smoke)which I enjoyed a lot but there was definitely something left to be desired. I used pearls for quite a while. I stopped because I noticed that even with a few different combinations of pearls & caps, I was still pulling on my rig harder than I wanted/needed to just to get the pearls to spin.

if youre doing hot starts with pearls i would recommend ruby terp pearls, they can 100% handle heating up and cooling rather quickly and dont have as much of a problem getting stuck to the banger as boro or quartz ones do if you cant handle your hit and back out. just make sure theyre real (or synthetic) ruby

Glad I found your twitch stream randomly like 3 years ago. Just got my first vortex cap and pearls and had no idea how to actually use them. I over heated the first set and one of them literally cracked in half in my banger. I had no idea that they would take a lower temp than the actual banger. I just figured I could torch my banger clean and it would clean the pearls too. Thanks for the knowledge 😂❤️

As a glassblower and someone who's probably been smoking weed since before you were born, it's absolutely absurd to think you could be melting Boro pearls. It takes a tremendous amount of heat to melt Boro and if you are using that much heat....your doing it wrong. You'd probably boil your eyeballs trying to hit something that hot before you melt the glass

Ruby pearls are better. They can withstand more heat then quartz. They also hold heat longer as well.

Two days ago i got my first flat bottom banger so i could actually use terp pearls and a spinner cap, as i used to run a 45 with a directional cap. i run 2 ruby pearls sometimes three if I'm either bored or daring, I've never been able to take hits this big in my life.

I tend to hold my banger at a slight off axis angle so the oil falls to one side along with the pearl. Then, I hit it upright. I have an engraved bottom banger and love the sound of the pearl going over the knurled quartz surface when the oil is nearly spent. I dunno… Agree with you on quartz. But I've seen ridiculous prices on fancy terp pearls. I equate those with items like $4, 000 USB connectors sold to audio nutters and such. Ha!

When you recommend to put your pearls in when putting your concentrates on could be dangerous. If you are doing a hot start your pearls could explode due to the extreme sudden change in temperature. A really good buddy of mine who blows glass and owns a glass shop/gallery says this happens at least 3x/week. You want to heat whatever type of nail you use with the pearls in it to start to avoid them exploding. Hope this info helps, happy smoking

Biggest danger with borosilicate pearls is that they can shatter at around 500F. I’d be more concerned with breathing aluminum fumes from ruby or sapphire than boron from borosilicate glass.
