Rock Your Wings, Welcome to AirVenture! || SR22T Arrival into Oshkosh

Myself and student of mine took one of our Cirrus SR22T G5 up to Oshkosh. It was my first time there and his second time, and we camped out under the airplane for a few days and had a blast. This video starts in Viroqua, WI (Y51) to grab cheap fuel before heading to OSH which was about 30 minutes away. This is what it is like to enter Oshkosh's airspace during AirVenture, which is essentially controlled chaos.

Apologies for only one camera angle. My other GoPro died and this is the only one remaining :(

Why are they not using tail numbers to talk to the plans here?

Nice to see the aviation community come together even more there at the end with the assist to parking.

You can see our blue and white 182 parked just down a bit from you towards the showers - we backed right onto the FBO. Thanks for the video.

I new the rain was heavy, but I didn't realize it was that sloppy. Good teamwork at the end with the volunteers!

I think the multiple storms with heavy rain before the big show started had something to do with it. I taxied a G3 SR20 in the grass for about 30 mins getting to GAP, but kept the momentum up with full aft pressure and no issue.

I also went for my first time, in a G5, and needed TONS of power on the grass. I thought for sure I was getting stuck!

Soft field taxi looked rough, is the Cirrus usually that bad on hard surfaces?

Going to KOSH this year for the first time. Really excited. What day did you arrive? If i want a campsite, what day is best to arrive? Any tips otherwise? Thanks!

Nice video. Next year, make sure you have some tundra tires on there! :p

Nothing like a full power taxi! I was in the same situation there.

Just a Cirrus thing, in the grass, or were others having issues? Watching that Mooney have that tail strike, made me cringe!

I'm pretty sure I helped push your plane in as I was an aircraft greeter that day. If I recall we had to push another cirrus in right after you. Crazy.

nice video! I have an '06 sr22 and was wondering about the prop clearance taxiing on the grass at OSH - in particular the lip transitioning onto the grass. The G5 has more clearance. Didn't make it this year but hoping to make the trek from CA next year and definitely want to camp -- thoughts on the prop clearance for a g2?

I've been posting this on every OSH video, those guys at ATC were seriously badass the whole week.
