Extremely underrated band of the 80’s and 90’s! For two reasons I believe; 1. They had a bit of a Christian background and were not afraid to show it and 2. Their lyrics took pot shots at the deep state that controls the entertainment industry and everything else for that matter.

Excellent choice. Loved this song on the radio in 1985 - holds up today.

Great and underrated tune from the early eighties. That's Garth Hudson from The Band on keyboards here. RIP Michael Been....Great Talking Heads tunes to react to are, Life During Wartime and Psycho Killer...

What a nice surprise to see a reaction to The Call! If you're interested in hearing more, Everywhere I Go would be a good choice. Really enjoyed this. Thanks Daniel

Hands down, and without a doubt, the most underrated band of all time 🎸 🎼 🎸

The whole album is very prophetic -- it contains veiled (and not so veiled) critiques of then-contemporary politics and culture, some of which are even more true today then they were when the album came out.

That's Garth Hudson of The Band on keys, by the way.

Great review dude. Im now 51 and great to see you keeping these tunes alive. This song deserves its rightful place in music history. Try Primus dude!

That 80s sound - instantly recognizable.

I thought hardly anyone remembered this tune. Always enjoyed it. For some reason when I think of this I also think of Julian Cope’s World Shut Your Mouth, but I’m not sure exactly why.

Great reaction! The Call had such a unique sound, even for the '80s. The lead singer, Michael Been, sadly passed away. However, his son Robert, has performed with The Call in his place a few times since then. He really sounds so much like his dad. Other songs by The Call to check out are "Let the Day Begin, " "I Still Believe, " and "Everywhere I Go."

Oh the flash back to my youth.. MTV time for sure. I enjoyed your reaction as always.

IMO, lead singer Michael Been sounds
a lot like an Eric Burdon lite. The Call's "Everywhere I Go" is also worth a listen.

Love their sound! My favorite is I Still Believe!

'Let the day begin' is the tune you want.
This forgotten song is basically when the bar shuts down.

This has been one of my fav songs...especially to sing, since I first heard it in 1981!

Saw them in 1984 when I was 20, at Rainbow Music Hall in Denver - Awesome! Miss Michael Been RIP.

Great song by a largely forgotten band from the 1980s. Always enjoyed their music.
