Darwazah Startup Accelerate 2021 Demo Day

The Darwazah Center held the award ceremony of its 8th cohort of the Darwazah Startup Accelerate competition entitled “Think Global Build Local” on 3 December 2021, to encourage the applicants to come up with startup ideas that tackle local problems, such as the decreasing purchasing power caused by the currency devaluation, and to come up with startup ideas that substitute imports and promote exports.

Eight teams pitched their startup ideas after 3 months of hard work and high-level commitment. Through a series of boot camps, around value proposition design and development, startup validation and cost structure and revenue stream, the participants got themselves ready to embark on new entrepreneurial journeys.

Two of the finalists, “Cedar’s chemicals” and “Nutri 3”, were announced first-prize winners receiving $10,000 each, and two teams, "Sheavera" and "Lebaid" were announced second-prizewinners receiving $1,000 each, to launch their startups.
