One summer's day in 1996, I was 24, on holiday and driving a hired jeep around Corfu with my girlfriend sitting next to me, my first and last true love. Champagne Supernova was playing on the radio. We pulled over to get a good look at the harbour below. It was late afternoon/early evening on a gloriously sunny day and, as I turned to kiss her, the sun caught her eyes and face, changing the colour of her irises in a way I had never seen before, and I realised I was experiencing one of the most beautiful moments of my life so far...in my last dying breaths I will go back to that moment and embrace the infinite.

This song hit me like a freight train. Between loosing my dad a year ago, loosing the woman I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with left, she rather had her freedom instead of being a wife, thinking back to all the good times growing up . The feels are real. Just remember everyone, nothing lasts forever . Enjoy it all while you can

This reminds me of being 16/17 again, I remember owning these CD, the emotions I felt, the smells and the people I had in my life back then, most of them I no longer talk to. I miss the 90's terribly.
1996 ❤

I listen to this song and think about all the memories of my life. The friends I had studying abroad, the parties, ex girlfriends, past jobs, sunsets. All lost to the past, but I’m opening newer and better doors with God who I found earlier this year. Our lives mean something. Long live Oasis and this amazing song, and God bless!

I was 14. Headphones on in my room. Didn't know what music I liked. Listened to this album. That was it. The journey began. Went to Knebworth the following year. The adventure continued.

My little brother passed away five years ago and this song was played days later in my friend Tino's radio or playlist. The vibe and the flow of the song and lyrics really made me emotional and helped me release the sad tears I felt I was to man to let out in front of people. But Thank God I had my friends to help me through all of it. This song will forever make me grateful I like all have people in my life who will be there

Not even a month after graduating high school I first heard this song. I immediately burst into tears.

This song brings back memories of the time around my 30th birthday in May 1996. One memory I have attached to this is a night trip to the Rim country north of Payson, AZ. It was a spur of the moment trip. When we got north of Payson and when Mike and I came to the Mogollon Rim, it was a breathtaking sight seeing the Milky Way above us and the glow from Phoenix to the west. This was done in a 1975 Monte Carlo and this was played on a cassette deck.

How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky
Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams, she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eye
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova
'Cause we don't believe
That they're gonna get away from the summer
But you and I will never die
The world's still spinning around we don't know why
Why-why-why-why-i-i
How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova
'Cause we don't believe
That they're gonna get away from the summer

How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?

We were getting high <-- 9 times, background "Oooh-oooh"

My favorite part of this song is from when the solo fades out until the end. I close my eyes and imagine being in a sea of grass. Its not a hard song to play, nothing complex. You know its one of the great songs when it does that to you. Goosebumps all over.

My step dad influenced me deeply in my music taste, I’m so grateful for him, best dad I could ever ask for, music like this helps me take my mind off the world, I’m surrounded by a lot of shitty people and this genre helps me through it all

I remember hearing this on the radio the first time in the 90s and turning to my friend and saying 'Who ARE these British guys? And what is a Champagne Supernova because whatever it is I need one!' LOL Went and bought the album the next day. The day after that I bought Definitely Maybe, and been a huge fan ever since.
