In the 1990s (and likely before that), politicians and the media were frequently discussing the "brain drain" problem in Canada. In the last 20 years, it's hardly ever spoken about despite being a persistent problem. Canada needs to find a way to retain its talent. High deficits, which lead to high taxation, just doesn't help.

HOLY $HIT! I didn't realize our electoral fundraising policies were so draconian! No wonder we have mediocrity. Speaking about preventing provinces from competing, I was in Saskatchewan and found a really good local wine and mentioned I would look for it when I go back to Ontario and the owner said that won't happen because the bottle of wine that I was buying for $6.00 would be over $25.00 in Ontario!
